Plannig Folders!

Now that we have a good routine and structure during our center time, I decided it was time to introduce the planning folder!  We will continue to learn how to use them to make choices during our Daily 5 literacy block.  The process is student driven, and allows me more flexibility when working closely with your child.  Here's what it looks like:

It is color coordinated, and aligns with posters around our room. 





 A student will make a choice as to where they want to go for their MUST DOs (listen to a story, word work, work on writing, and work with the teacher).




When they are finished with their MUST DOs, the students can look at their planning folder and make their own literacy choices.  So far, it is going well!  The routine and independence will be hammered until it's just right!
